Four ways to spend a gift voucher near Arcachon
Picking a date for someone else is a gamble. Picking the view is not, so with this present the recipient settles on the dates while we take care of the scenery. La Co(o)rniche sits in Pyla-sur-Mer on France’s Atlantic coast, where the Bassin d’Arcachon opens onto the ocean a short drive from Arcachon. Two hours are enough for the sea in front of the terrace to change its whole appearance. With each tide, the sands of the Banc d’Arguin appear and disappear again. Protected as a national nature reserve since 1972, its islets are gradually shifting south. On the southern skyline stands the Dune du Pilat, Europe’s highest dune. The interiors, meanwhile, are a study in white wood, stainless steel and mirrors. Philippe Starck wanted luxury here to feel essential and familiar. Our gift voucher near Arcachon comes in four forms:
– Table for two: a three-course lunch or dinner overlooking the ocean.
– Overnight stay: the Ferret room or the Bassin cabin, with breakfast.
– Couture treatment: between one and three hours of spa care.
– Boutique credit: an amount to spend in the concept store at reception.
If food is the way to their heart, the dining option seats two for three courses, drinks not included. It works for lunch or dinner in our restaurant, with three evenings excluded: Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Chef Christophe Beaupuy’s kitchen follows the seasons with its fish, while the cellar lists more than 500 wines. Local oysters from the Bassin d’Arcachon, which take three to five years to raise, steal the show on the seafood platters. Prefer to give a night away? The Ferret room comes with a balcony over the Bay. The Bassin cabin is roomier at 45 m², with a 15 m² terrace that looks as far as the tip of Cap Ferret. Buffet breakfast for two and the local tourist tax are covered either way. Full details for each appear among our gift stays.
Spa days happen at our sister house, Hôtel Ha(a)ïtza, just 600 metres up the road. A private shuttle run by our team takes La Co(o)rniche guests there. The treatments, named Couture experiences, are the work of CODAGE, a Paris cosmetics house that tailors each protocol to the skin. Some treatments come within wider packages, with lunch, a blow-dry and the run of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. For someone who is hard to buy for, the most flexible gift box is simply an amount to spend at the Boutique du Pyla, our concept store inside reception.

Why ordering direct from the hotel matters
A booking platform sees your present as one room on one night, somewhere in a list of hundreds of other addresses. Multi-venue gift boxes are vaguer still, offering a night somewhere in a room nobody has described. Order through our official shop instead and the gift voucher names the exact room, from its floor area to the direction it faces and the view from the window. Then come the touches only the hotel can arrange, the kind that turn a stay into an occasion: a champagne bottle signed by the designer, seven preserved roses, a heart of rose petals on the bed or dinner for two. Marking something big? Upgrade to the Banc d’Arguin room with 10 m² of seafront terrace, or to the Océan cabin facing due west. Four-legged family members are not left out either, as well-behaved dogs stay for a supplement. All of these extras are chosen at checkout, on the page of the La Co(o)rniche stay in question. The recipient’s name and your own words go with it, sent in whichever way suits you:
– By email: free and immediate, handy if you live abroad or have left it late.
– By post: a card on its way within three working days.
– In person: collect it at reception between 9am and 9pm.
There is no small print to worry about either. Each gift voucher lasts twelve months from purchase, with no extension possible. Weekend stays that take in a Saturday night are booked for at least two nights. Our specific conditions set out every rule in detail, so they are worth a look before ordering. Off-peak versions put the same room within a gentler budget, whereas the all-year version leaves every date open, high season included. When a question comes up, a real person answers it: our reception can help settle a date, plan a surprise or choose between two options. Behind that service stands a family: Thomas Techoueyres has run the house since 2021, with his wife Alexia in charge of reception. Its story starts in the 1930s with a hunting lodge founded by Louis Gaume, revived in 2010 by Philippe Starck and William Techoueyres.

Choosing the season and making the most of the trip
Since it runs for a full year, a gift voucher bought in October stays valid until the following autumn, leaving the recipient to choose their season. From spring through summer, life on the terrace centres on the outdoor bar, where coloured lanterns glow at sunset and a DJ plays until 2am. Nobody books and nobody stands on ceremony: locals, oyster farmers leading the way, share the space with holidaymakers. Come the quieter months, the bar falls silent. The cabins are left to the hush of the pines, with sleep coming to the sound of the tides. Midwinter brings a low sunset that sets the sandbank ablaze long before dinner. Le Pyla then goes back to its residents, whose neo-Basque villas shelter under the pine trees. In autumn, songbirds by the hundred thousand pass over the reserve, following one of the planet’s major migration flyways. A tip no booking site will give you: your dog is welcome at the hotel, yet it may never set paw on the sandbank, which is a protected reserve.
For a full day out, tackle the dune first thing, before the crowds arrive. Around it, a protected site of 6,800 hectares runs between ocean and forest. Late morning is the time to reach Arcachon’s seafront, roughly ten kilometres (six miles) away. The boatmen’s shuttles to Cap Ferret leave from the jetty, giving you the whole landscape from the water on the way across. Once on the peninsula, the obvious lunch is a plate of oysters in one of its oyster-farming villages. Tired legs are well looked after on your return: the Spa Ha(a)ïtza takes appointments daily from 10am to 8pm. Four treatment rooms, one of them for two, share the space with a sauna, a nail bar and a hair salon.
Put simply, a gift voucher near Arcachon from La Co(o)rniche is a table, a room, a landscape and a team, all in one present. Our photo gallery offers a preview of the terrace, the cabins and the sandbank in every light. Ordering takes a few minutes, with email delivery the same day. Tempted to come yourself? Our stay offers are waiting.
